Subsurface & Reservoir Engineering
InflowControl offer extensive reservoir simulation support and consulting from our broad experienced subsurface and reservoir engineering team.

Our Subsurface & Reservoir Engineering team host highly experienced petroleum and reservoir engineering specialists located both at the HQ-office in Norway and regionally around the globe. This includes inflow control technology subject matter experts (SME’s) within modelling, reservoir management and advanced completion design. The team is pioneering in ICD/AICD/AICV® technology applications and has developed leading modelling techniques which are applied globally.
We deliver high value technical services when designing our inflow control technology to be deployed in wells across a variety of reservoir types and operating conditions. We value collaboration and teamwork with our clients and peers as these are key success factors required to deliver exceptional results for our mission of making better well for our clients. Research & Development
InflowControl’s in-house R&D team continuously work on improving our reservoir management technologies. The team performs testing to advance our technologies for improving oil recovery by reducing gas and water from a variety of reservoirs and this includes flow loop, erosion and drilling mud testing.

Innovation, precision, focus, and technical expertise are the cornerstones of InflowControl’s Research & Development department. Based at the company’s headquarters in Norway, the R&D team operates industry-leading development and testing facilities dedicated to the advancement of inflow control technologies.
Within its state-of-the-art R&D laboratory, InflowControl conducts a wide range of qualification and performance tests, including flow loop testing, erosion testing, drill and mud testing, and customer-specific qualification programs in accordance with industry standards. The department is comprised of a highly skilled team of development engineers with expertise in both theoretical and experimental fluid dynamics.
By continuously researching, developing, and optimizing its technologies, the R&D team plays a critical role in ensuring that InflowControl delivers innovative, high-performance solutions that support the company’s mission of Making Better Wells for customers worldwide.
Engineering and Manufacturing
The department consist of a highly professional, diversified, and experienced team that supports the company with engineering power such as product development, prototype design, lab and test equipment, manufacturing engineering and AICV® screen design.

Competence, accuracy, quality, and execution are key success factors within InflowControl’s Engineering department. The department serves as an important link between internal teams, external partners, and suppliers. It consists of a highly professional, diverse, and experienced team that supports the company through product development, prototype design, laboratory and test equipment, manufacturing engineering, and AICV® screen design. The Engineering team utilizes advanced 3D CAD, PDM, and finite element analysis software in its daily work. The department is based at InflowControl’s headquarters in Porsgrunn, Norway.
Quality, accuracy, focus, and efficiency are key strengths of InflowControl’s Manufacturing & Supply Chain department. The team applies these qualities every day in the production of the company’s products. The department operates modern, dedicated manufacturing tools and equipment at the headquarters facility. Comprised of experienced and dedicated professionals with a strong commitment to customer support, the team is responsible for the entire value chain, from sourcing raw materials and components to warehouse management, manufacturing, assembly, factory acceptance testing, and delivery of finished products to customers.
Field Operations
This is where innovation meets execution. The team ensures that InflowControl’s autonomous inflow control technology is successfully implemented in wells around the world, delivering measurable results from day one.

With deep technical expertise and a hands-on approach, the team works closely with operators and partners to plan, install, and optimize solutions in real-world conditions. From initial deployment to ongoing support, they play a vital role in ensuring that every installation performs as intended—maximizing oil production while minimizing unwanted water and gas production. Their work is instrumental in transforming advanced engineering into reliable, high-impact field performance.
Regional Business Development
InflowControl’s Regional Business Development team connects the company’s technology with the challenges and opportunities faced by operators worldwide. With a strong understanding of both reservoir dynamics and market conditions, the team identifies where InflowControl’s solutions can deliver the greatest impact.

By building long-term relationships and working closely with clients, the team helps translate complex technical challenges into tailored, value-driven solutions. They support operators in improving well performance, increasing recovery, and reducing environmental impact, ensuring that InflowControl’s technology creates lasting value across regions and asset types.
Business Support
The Business Support team is at the core of the company’s efficient and consistent operations. The team provides the structure, coordination, and support that enable technical and commercial teams to focus on delivering results.

QHSE
InflowControl’s QHSE team safeguards the integrity of the company’s operations. The team is responsible for ensuring that activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility across all projects and locations.

Dr. Vidar Mathiesen
Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Ing. Vidar Mathiesen is the CEO and one of the founders of InflowControl. He has been head of technical research support at Statoil’s research center and has extensive experience from innovation and product development, qualification, delivery and production, installation and evaluation of inflow control as Leading Research Scientist at Statoil. Vidar has written a number of publications published in international journals and conferences, he has a number of patents in the field and has received several innovation awards. He is one of the inventors of both the AICV® and the Statoil’s AICD – the RCP. He was nominated for the World Oil Innovative Thinker Award 2021.
Brent Brough
Chief Commercial Officer

Brent Brough is CCO of InflowControl with over 20 years of international experience. Having lived in Canada, Russia, UK, Norway and UAE, Brent has a track record of managing and leading global teams from both large and small technology companies which delivered growth. He has board director experience in O&G tech and venture backed start-up companies. Earning an MBA in 2012 from Warwick Business School – specialized in Global Energy – and in 1999 graduated from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Chemical Engineering.
Dr. Ismarullizam Mohd Ismail
Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Ismarullizam Mohd Ismail is CTO of InflowControl with more than 20 years of global experience within advanced completions, petroleum engineering and research & development. He has extensive experience in designing and modeling autonomous and passive nozzle completions and has written a number of publications published in international journals and conferences. Dr Mohd Ismail holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University of Leeds, UK and was Distinguished Lecturer within SPE for inflow control technology disciplines in 2018/2019.
Maria Tho
Chief Financial Officer

Maria Tho is CFO of InflowControl and has more than 15 years of experience from senior finance and strategy positions with multinational and national enterprises. With a cross-industry experience including technology, banking, finance, travel, retail and more she has worked with several companies experiencing high levels of organic and inorganic growth. She earned a master’s degree in Professional Accountancy from the Institute of BI Norwegian School of Management in 2008 and a bachelor’s degree in Auditing from Oslo University College in 2003.
Bjørnar Werswick
Chief Operating Officer

Bjørnar Werswick is COO and co-founder of InflowControl. He has 25 years’ experience in innovation, product development and design in addition to qualification, manufacturing and installation of inflow control technology from Norsk Hydro, Equinor and InflowControl. He also has extensive experience in mechanical engineering, material selection, manufacturing technology and well completion. Bjørnar has submitted several patents/patent applications in this field. Bjørnar is also director of the board in InflowControl. He earned a B.Eng. degree in mechanical engineering from University of South-Eastern Norway in 1997.
